Rosewood carpenter's square is traditionally used for marking right angles and checking squareness between joints. The hardened steel blade has been chemically blued to prevent corrosion and provide a longer working life.
To provide accuracy with the right angle the Rosewood stock has been fitted with a thick brass plate, on the angle side of the stock. This maintains the accuracy of the right angle and prolongs the life of the square.
